could either of you post some more detailed photos of the K550? I am sorta concerned about the button size. I have no problem with the small ones on my T616 but the ones on the K550 look smaller.

alright, here you go. the buttons are a little small, but you get used to it. and most of the time you're dialing from the address book anyways.

i find the buttons to be of adequate size, they're just so close together. such is the case on any phone this size though.

so I flashed my firmware to the w610 firmware, and I'm really happy I did. I basically gained the walkman 2.0 software, whcih is a more refined and polished mp3 player, as well as macromedia flash themes, which look totally sweet. The only thing that is different is that opening the lens cover doesn't activate the camera (no biggie, I can just set the camera to a shortcut button), and I lose the ability to view rss feeds (kinda sucks, but i use the mp3 player function more). I would def recommend the upgrade.

Read my post and you'll realize you don't want to mess with SE. The reception on the SE phones aren't good at all i have always favored Nokia phones. Motorla has a high market share but everyone has a motorola.

Check out the LG shine, its a sweet phone and comparable to price of the k800/790. Whatever phone you get make sure its got the 850 and 1900 or atleast the 1900 frequency bands. Usually your looking for a tri or quad band phone for use in the us and it'll also work overseas.

Let me know if you still need help or opnions.

why would you ever want the k800i over the k790a? the 790 has US tri-band (covers both the US gsm bands), while the k800 is meant for europe (so it only has one of the US gsm bands)

maybe that's why your phone had shitty reception

the reception on my quad band k550 blows my old razr out of the water. couldn't be happier with it

as far as your customer service experince goes, they're sending you a new phone that will work better than your old model, so i don't really see the problem. You were clearly pissed that they weren't giving you the k800, so they went out of their way to try and secure you one.

I got that phone because i wanted a 3g capable phone with video calling capablity and atleast 1900. Thats why buddy... i'm competent enought to now what i'm getting.

When their rep hangs up on you between a conversation does not define good customer service. They also keep on lying about shipping the phone from their repair center. See the problem now.

Word form the wise... get a nokia. Be a part of the largest market share in cellular phones.

just incase you dont know, the 3g here isnt compatible with the k800i. you got the euro/asia version. so the 3g frequency thats on the k800i is useless here. cingular uses umts 850/1900 for their 3g, while tmobile will be using the 1700. shouldve just gotten the k790a, since it has both 850 and 1900. useful if 1900 isnt available.
