software guys: read this
Well, I am doing Econ/CompSci now. While more dedicated to CompSci. Will hopefully end up with MBA and a MS in CS.
But seriously, I think there will a point in time that people will realize that all codes are NOT coded equally. When you do care about performance, efficiency, and security. It takes a lot more than cheap labor to get there. I ain't saying that those people can't code well. But they get paid less because they don't have their reputation yet. Once they got that, then they will demand more wage, and things will even out a bit. I take it as another .com boom kinda thing. It will just take thme sometime to realized that.
There are big differences between code monkey and computer scientist. BTW, I am from Taiwan, so I don't mean to diss asians... But so many people I have met and talk to, don't think deep enough. But I guess that's good for me, cuz then... people will realized what they really need... and who to hire...
