not really, maybe wireless backup (sync your contact info online).

otherwise, it's inexpensive, and it will come in colours including pink, blue, black, and white.

Does it catch fire at highway speeds and beg for money to pay off gambling debts?

not evdo but the browser is pretty fast for a 3G phone. when we were naming the phone (with Sanyo), not once did our ACL namesake come to mind.

now to find a way to pick up this phone for a decent price without having to be locked into another 2 years....

I work for Sprint, and sell this. It's a nice mid-range phone. The A900 "Blade" is Sprint's high end flip phone, and will continue to be for a bit. Sprint asked Sanyo to create a mid-range thin phone for everyone who didn't need all the features that can be put in a phone, and wanted a lower price. So we have the Katana.

Basic Phone
Regular Vision
VGA Camera
Bluetooth
Nice big/bright LCD
Speakerphone
Etc.

Looks cool and comes in 4 colors. White, black, blue, and pink.

It will appeal to a lot of people. Makes perfect sense, the Sanyo rep said they wished that they could make the high-end model, but that's just the way it worked out I guess. All in all it's a nice phone, and if you don't care about mp3's, power vision (high speed internet), and the like...I'd recommend you buy it.

I work at Sprint. I didn't pick the name, Sanyo did. I am part of the naming approval process...like with Fusic.

Looks good, but it's still a Sanyo, which in my mind is irreversibly connected to cheap and poorly made electronics usually sold at discount retailers.
