Just like any other carrier, field test the phone in the area you will use it most. If you aren't satisfied with the reception, then return the phone and cancel service.

yeah, I haven't seen one in person, but have seen enough demo on youtube and Sprint's site to be convinced... I should be picking one up tomorrow... Hopefully the Sprint store around the corner will hold one for me (like they said they would)

ok.... sounds like a win-win for sprint if peeps are gonna grab them like yall are.... I still have a few things to do this summer with my cash before I can buy one.... I will prob go by best buy on the way home or the sprint store... sometimes BB has the none working models... that aint right!
played with my brothers phone today. The web browser absolutely sucks. My touch with Skyfire or opera mini blows this thing out the water with windows mobile flash. Another waste of a nice screen with no flash support. Safari is way better. The nstinct is the best non windows mobile phone sprint has, but coming from a touch I will never own a closed platform phone ever again.

, so I will be moving forward most likely with an instinct...
Question: can you surf the web and talk and or text at the same time?

I'm gonna see if I can get my money back tomorrow... and stay with Verizon...saw the phone at best buy today, and i liked the way it looks and feels.
but as usual, it was just on display. it wasn't turned on.

complaint #1: NO copy and paste
I post a lot on AZ and other forums... I'd say about 70% of my posts are done with my phone (the Treo 700wx that is). I DO use the copy and paste feature a lot... I mean A LOT. How long has copy and paste been around? since DOS went to Windows? Give me a f-ing break... my Treo 700wx with Windows Mobile 5 has copy and paste... this phone is suppose to be running on WM6!!! WTF??!!! complaint #2: Can't sign into eBay. I'm one of those people that like to make last minute or last second bids on eBay... and have done a lot of that with the Treo when I'm on the go... where ever I'm at. Well, there's some kind of glitch... and I can't seem to sign into eBay... And eBay is one of the sites that's listed on Sprint's home page web browser.
(and don't even tell me perhaps I'm not entering the right password, cuz it's the same password I've been using all these years since I've been shopping on eBay). complaint #3: terrible coverage, at least around here, damn I didin't know how good I had it when I was with Verizon (technically still with them til Tuesday). Earlier tonight... just before making that post about about this phone being shit, I was trying (again), to sign into eBay... and couldn't. So, I was sitting in my car, in the middle of a parking lot of a mall/24 Hour Fitness... mind you, this is a heavily populated area... I got frustrated and decided to call *2 which is Sprint's C/S line... and after a couple rings... I get a automated message that said "Thank you for calling Metro PCS C/S" I was like WTF??!!! I looked at the display and I was in roaming... Do you see the irony? I'm pissed off already about a bunch of stuff, I needed to vent with Sprint's C/S... called them up... but only to reach Metro PCS's C/S... again, this IS a heavily populated area... with no tall buildings or what not... in the middle of a parking lot... and I wasn't getting any service.
complaint #4: GPS is slow and also bad coverage, outdated maps. Several times it tells me that the GPS signal is weak and try going somewhere else
Tonight, as I left the house to go to the gym... I decided to test the feature where you say "Go To Search" and then say whatever business name. I said "24 Hour Fitness" and after a few seconds (longer than desire), a bunch of 24 Hour Fitnesses popped up... but not the one I was going to
It's been there for like 5 years now... WTF??!! It's not listed?? It also has a tendency to give you some wacky directions... which I DO find most GPSs do anyway... while it thinks that it's giving you the quickest or shortest directions... it may actually be longer because perhaps there's more stop lights... WHATEVER. So, with my other phone, I was able to get the address, I decided to manually enter the address... NO, it didn't give me my usual route there... so I decided to just proceed with mine, and see how it changes/recalculate... it was very slow... and rather stubborn... kept telling me to "U-turn". Then I got to an area where there are some back streets that were put in about 5 years ago... and apparently, these back streets (yes, they do have names), didn't exist... kept telling me that I was off course.complaint #5: Sprint's Media Manager: this is where you download a software that came with the phone lets you manager your music player and whatever else fall in the "media" category... I wasn't really planning on using this phone as a music player, because frankly, the only time I listen to music with my earphones is when I'm working out... and the iPod Nano is perfectly fine... it's compact fits in my pocket perfectly... but earlier tonight I decided to download that software anyway and see how this thing works with music... So, this is what I get:

that page says "Connecting phone, this may take some time" Well, it took some time alright... it can't even connect... and that spiral bar just keeps spinning... and I can't "x" it out... in order to get rid of it I have to restart the computer.
there's a couple more minor things, but I'm done typing for now... I'm just annoyed and tomorrow I'm going to march into Sprint and see if there's any way I can back out of this contract... cuz I'm staying with Verizon... I'd rather get that XV6800...

It's bulky as hell... but I don't mind it. It's got everything I need. The only time I need a music player is when I'm working out, and the iPod Nano does just fine. (So, don't bother suggesting 2nd gen. iPhone)
ugh!, so I went to a different Sprint store to return the phone, because the store I got it from is not open on the weekends... well, turns out, the store where I goit it from isn't really a real Sprint store but franchised store, therefore the one I went to just now wouldn't take it back, but suggested that I take it back to the store where I got it from tomorrow. damn, it looks just like any Sprint store too. They better not give me the run around too... I need that money back to apply towards whatever else I end up buying...
but, I must say... my negative posts may be a bit misleading... for $129.99 (after all the incentives and rebates) it's not a bad phone at all... it just doesn't do what I need it to do...
btw, $129.99 if and only if you sign up with the $99/month plan... If you wanna go with the 450/900 minutes ($69/$89), you pay $199.99 for the phone.

but do you think the XV6800 will be replaced too? Right now... I'm leaning towards staying/renewing with Verizon... because it's simlpy better coverage in my area
thanks, is300eater.
i'm willing to wait, and since i have a $150 credit towards a new phone, i just may wait and see what the htc diamond and blackberry bold look like.
i hear blackberry is coming out with a touch phone (no keyboard), but i think it's only for verizon.

Phonescoop is great for side by side comparisons, but for new or techy or rumors IMO the two best sites are www.gizmodo.com and www.infosyncworld.com
