The remaining Fry's Electronics stores are all shutting down

Whenever I was in San Jose area on business I'd always make some time to stop into Fry's and look around.
One of the very few stores in the US that sold chips over the counter (uP, uC, RAM, FLASH, EEPROM, FPGA,...).
The 1990's and 2000's were their heyday as they shifted over toward consumer electronics in the 2010's.

Very sad, but definitely saw this coming. Same with you, I always try to visit Fry's when I go to SF/SJ. Such a bizarre and unique shopping experience. Sold everything from high end name brands to low end knockoffs. However, it seems like everytime I went there, the customer to sf ratio was way off.

Wind down, it was more of a cut the fuel and immediately shut down... I will miss Fry's, got some good stuff from there over the years.
