Quick Photoshop Help
If I have an image of scattered dots and shapes and I've used magic wand to select each individual image, is there a way to quickly turn all those selected shapes into individual layers?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Since a selection in PS, even if it is multiple non-contiguous areas, still counts as one selection, you would have to paste it all-or-none into a new layer.
If it was time consuming to select all the elements from the original, I would paste them all into a new layer, then duplicate the layer for each element, then go through the layers and clear all the elements except one.
If it's easy to select these elements, you can do the inverse and duplicate the original layer for as many elements there are, then go through each layer, select the element, invert the selection, then clear.
But I'm no Photoshop wizard either, so I could be totally wrong.

When you have something selected, CTRL+J takes and puts copies of that selection up on a new layer. As Anachostic stated, you could then create duplicates of this resulting layer and remove portions of them leaving only one targeted object per layer.
Sorry I should've added the obvious. If he pasted it it would make a new layer with a duplicate of the object he copied in it. Or he could cut the object from the background cmd + x and then paste it which would cut the object from the background in a new layer.
