Question re:Text Messaging

I'm in Vancouver B.C. right now... and this time I left my phone at home in cali... but last time I was here... I used the phone a couple times (but, both times... I talked for awhile), anyway, I ended up getting "ass raped" with the charges... that is why I didn't bother bringing it here this time... anyway, before leaving I turned it off... but it just hit me... I have serveral clients/friends, and one "booty call" that likes to text, my question is... with the phone turned off... will the text come through when I turn it on? Kinda like... voice mails.... how when, you turn the phone on... evetually the indicator for voice mails come on...

...anyone know?

They will come in, and I've found that I am unable to get text messages in Canada, even though I have cell service on Verizon's extended network, still no text or picture messages.

I have unlimited text, but my question is... suppose, when I get back to cali... and I turn my phone on... if there are voice mails... they'll come in... the indicator will pop up... BUT will the text messages come in? Or are they "lost" because my phone wasn't on, at the time the messages were sent?
