Motorola makes handsets when they get orders for them from the carriers. When the carriers place an order, Motorola manufacturers and ships. The carriers will stop ordering one day...for any number of reasons. You can't characterize a phone as "discontinued" just because the factory stop making them. We don't know if the factory is still manufacturering V600s or not and we don't know if they will start back up again either. The V600 will be around for a few more years to come. Handset pricing has little to do with the factory status....more to do with carrier's inventory and "closeout."

Stopped Selling and Discontinued are two different situations.

A Batch of Cingulars v600's had issues, which they have since fixed and most likely will sell the phone again sometime in the future , or a comprable model [620?].

TMobile & ATT are still very much selling the phone
