Phone Warranty -Question

So I just bought a new phone from verizon and it says 1 year warranty, does that mean if the phone breaks its replaced for free? Also how much does it cost to get a 2 year warranty that fully covers all damage? Thanks

Warranties cover defects from factory, Only thing that will cover damage is Insurance, you have to pay monthly Fee around $4 with T-Mobile and Sprint, and it will cover as long as you keep paying, and theres a deductible for replacing

the only reason to get insurance (at least in the reagion i am in with verizon) is if your phone is lost or stolen. we can replace liquid damaged and physically broken phone with the $50 fru fee which we used to not be able to do. the $50 is the same you would pay with the insurance. it used to be where if you broke your phone you were paying full retail or a select few phones for a discounted price. now $50 will get you another one.

I got a letter that Sprint was increasing it to $5/month. I switched to Cingular though and there's is still $4. My wife's Cingular phone had a defect where it wouldn't light up when it opened and they're sending us a new phone.

Same with T-Mobile, You call it, and its at your house in 2 days, and you just take the new phone out, Put the old one in and use the prepaid shipping label, and mail it back to them
