outlook junk mail filtering problem

it doesn't work. I have it set on high, but it didn't stop a single junk mail. 287 new emails this morning

anyone know why I would have this problem? I have sp2 and all windows updates... I just reinstalled Outlook and just can't get this to work...

second question: is palm desktop compatible with thunderbird? I just switched back to outlook so I can synchronize calendar and address book with my pda, but now I'm thinking there might be a plug in or something for thunderbird?

Have you set up any rules within Outlook to filter junkmail?

Is this for your personal mail or running against an Exchange server? If it's against Exchange, then you have to run it in "Cached Exchange Mode."

Outlook's junk mail filter is worthless. Time to switch to something with more capabilities.

Outlook 2003 Junk e-mail filter only works in Cached mode (using Exchange).

2003 is pretty good. Add Exchange's Intelligent Mail Filter (IMF) and it's real good for FREE.

What version of Outlook are you running? Also, have you gotten the updates from M$ for office? I find myself having less than 5 pieces of junk mail in my inbox daily, which is excellent compared to 300 pieces.

I have Outlook 2003. I have not set any rules yet... but shouldn't it still block obvious junk mail without me having to do anything?

I had this installed 6 months ago and it worked fine...

It used to work fine... but what would you suggest? If thunderbird is compatible with my palm pilot I'll switch back to that.

2003, and would the ms updates come through windows update, or do I need to do it seperately?

There is an office update link on Microsofts website.

Under help you can also click on the "Check for Updates" option, it should take you right there. The filters seem to get updated every few weeks.

I use SAproxy Pro for all my workstations in the office and it works very well. Hardly any false positives and completely trainable (both automatic and manual).

I read many good things about that product. However, it looks like it's is going away now that Yahoo! has purchased the company. Check out the home page.
