Old laptop options
Old laptop options
I have an old Acer laptop of the 1997 vintage lying around. It still works very well, its just old. I was wondering what i could do with it? Could i turn it into a nav for my car like people do with the palms? It only has a whoping 16mb so i would need to up that. To do that is it just plug and play with the memory? Just give me some options that i could do with it other than throwing it away.

Around here, we have places like RE-PC that will take old working computers and computer recyclers that will take the computers and get whatever metals and plastics they can get from the old machines. Just don't toss them into the dump.

So I was forced to buy new computers or put a bunch of money into dated computers. They are also Sony laptops, which someone told me cost a lot to upgrade so I never really bothered trying.

Ebay a new battery for next to nothing, get a new keyboard for next to nothing. I wouldn't call that throwing money at an old laptop at $1500+ a pop I don't see your logic.
