A cool feature in Mac OS 10.3 is something called expose.

http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/expose/

I'll let Apple's description catch you up to speed.

So lookie what we have here...

http://www.winexpose.com/

They can't even come up with a better name??? Even the damn control panel gui is exactly the friggin' same. lol

I dunno. Kind of rubs me the wrong way, but whadda ya' gonna do??? I'm half tempted to install it on this XP box and see how it is.

hehe the readme.txt of the illegal download reads as follows:

A blatant rip-off of Apple's Exposé feature in Mac OS X 10.3 Panther. Performance is disappointing and it's hardly a convenience.

You should have no moral reservations about pirating this software; it violates intellectual property laws and those bastards wouldn't give me a refund.

dont most visual proggies waste resources anyway? i used to use windowsblinds, and that was pretty cool, but i stopped, i like to keep as much resources free as possible...for no reason.

in windows, cant you just right click the task bar and then select "tiles windows...?"
this will tiles all your opened windows horizontally or vertically.

If your OS is well written, task management and memory management along with any decent processor can accomodate any type of visual eye candy. Wasted CPU cycle are just that, wasted. Why not use what you got?

I have a 3 year old Mac, and Expose is as fluid as diarrhea. It's all about good quality code, baby.

True. There's no accounting for bad code.

scrib get over yourself

first off, fast application switching, window tiling, instant desktop access... have all been available since Win 98.

second... this look alike app isnt made by microsoft.

third... there have been a thousand things that apple has ripped off of windows proggies.

fourth... lol... mac is KING of wasted CPU power.

sure you can tile windows but the whole thing is that you cant have like 30 windows open and hit a button to see them all and then it it again to go back

trust me its a very very useful feature

dude i know what it is... i have a mac sitting right next to me.

but this has been available all along... just not with such a pretty style.

so what if some independent dude copied it exactly.

the only thing Mac has is that pretty lil GUI, which can be copied exactly on a superior Windows OS.

No shit, sherlock. That wasn't my point.

I never said it was.

This BLATANT?

fourth... lol... mac is KING of wasted CPU power.

This could be debated until the next millenium. But, IMHO if the cycles aren't BEING used, they're being wasted. So this eye candy, which if you would ever run something like "top" while on a Mac, you'd notice this has LITTLE to NO impact on anything, including the window manager that's responsible for all of this.

My point was the carbon copy of a something that serves its purpose to somethiing other than the alt-tabs, etc... It's very useful.

alt tab doesn't bring all of the programs windows to the front. i like it for aim cause i have like 10 windows open and it can let me select which oine, but alt tab doesn't work for that (in mac os at least)

just clarifying

My point was the blatant ripoff of someone elses work. The coders didn't even try to change anything. And even mentioned it was a complete copy.

That was my point. People can't be original, they have to use other people's ideas exactly.

Now, building on other's ideas is fine and is what progresses technology along. And I'm ALL for that.

I guess the author had enough stones to say they stole it straight from Apple.

lol

yea but so what...

its not like they copied it... and sold it to mac users for cheaper or something.

they copied something and made it available to others.

i dont think apple had plans to sell `Exposghey` to windows users.

I figure it's not worth arguing over, because you have one opinion and I have other.

So I'll just leave it at that.
