The 8890 was the thing back in the days haha, I remember when 3390's were the normal crowd and than people with 8890 had professional status haha! I did some conversions on some 8390's and 8290's to make them look like 8890's, man is that old school, been a while though.

I really like that Nokia phone that you can pop up to answer a call but it doesnt have 1900 band to work in U.S.

Bump

Just noticed the 8800 and was wondering if anyone had any info/experiences with it.

I'm debating between the 8800 and waiting for the N-series prices to drop. Any suggestions?

I have seen and used all the N-series phones. If you don't mind the huge size they have LOTS of features and a killer O/S

The current version has major OS problems and power problems. I hope they fix as new batches are shipped out. But that price point is waaaaay too far out for me...I think I will wait for the Nokia 6270 and the Motorola SLVR

I got my 8801 over the weekend. This is best looking phone I've owned, and it's got functionality to boot. I also had an 8860 back in the day, around 2000. Never had an 8890, though I considered it at the time. So far so good, everything's working perfectly, and I'm even getting used to working a Nokia again, after owning a Motorola V600 for over a year. As someone already mentioned, fingerprints are a downside, but really the only downside. Like the 8860, this is a "high-maintenance" phone, I'm always wiping it down. Other than that, it's great, I give it a

I snapped some pictures of it, to see more, click on the box.

Thats a pretty sick phone, probably the one I would buy if I was in the market right now.

Is GSM a West coast provider only? I havn't heard of them here in NY.

GSM is not a cell pohne company name. its the 'standard' cingular and t-mobile use (and most of the world). its like CDMA verizon uses.

This is a good place to get a 8801 for around $650

http://www.expansys-usa.com/product.asp?code=125667

I was all set on ordering one for myself, but I hear now that a US mobile carrier will be carrying these phones in regular stores for ne1 to buy.
Thas total BS ... ill be soo mad cuz the 8800 are known for their elegance and hefty price tag... and if ne1 can get these phones at a store ... im not willing to spend that kinda money on it. Uniqueness goes away if they become readily available.

For rite now, Razr will have to dol
