New Sprint Phones (kensteele)

no, there are some pretty neat phones coming out for sprint. i think christmas plus the first half of next year will be a little bit exciting.
also we just launched 2 EVDO phones, the Sanyo 9000 and the Samsung A940. Both will download songs wirelessly from the Sprint Music Store and play them on your handset. Another wireless industry first. If even has Sirius radio. The Samsung has Bluetooth capability so you can connect to your laptop and surf the Internet high-speed wireless.

Plus a couple questions about Sprint plans, if you please...
Are all Sprint plans (F&F with roaming included is what I have in mind) available everywhere?
Does it matter where one buys the plan? I live in a small market between Minneapolis and Milwaukee. Any benefit to buying in the large cities as opposed to here?

I just checked out the a900 at the store tonight....awesome. Very solid feeling phone.
I called my dad to see if he got one yet. Just bought his tonight...and got one for my mom, too.
Ken...how well does this phone work with the Lexus bluetooth cars? figured I'd ask you since you have a new one ....they have a rx400h and I never really had to time to see if my treo would work with it.

I was going to order the a900 online and do the mail in rebate but...it says in order to collect on the rebate I have to sign up for the Sprint Vision Plan? If so that's BUNK! I'm paying enough as it is and I don't want to waste money on the Vision service when I'm never going to use it.

Wow... even though I have purchased my last 3 Sprint phones elsewhere (have not collected any Sprint rebates), my account doesn't qualify for any rebates since I activated my current phone less than a year ago.
Whats the difference to them how long I've had this phone activated if I bought it on my own? Shouldn't it determine eligibility based on the last time I got a rebate from Sprint?
Up to $150 with a two-year Sprint PCS Advantage Agreement
(or up to $75 with a one-year agreement) 02/01/2007
and holy shit, they are going for $400+ on eBay. People are nuts.

Sprint restarts your rebate/discount clock if you change phones or plans. If you have a phone for 1 yr with out any changes you will be eligile for $75 off a new phone after 2 yrs your el for $150. think thats what i was told. I can't stand how these cell phone companies have crazy deals for new customers but they have shit for loyal customer of 4-5yrs+

^ yeah I don't get it either. I change my plan a lot, I don't get why that should restart my rebate ticker. Its like they force you to go to the competition.
I've had Sprint for 4 years or so, and I only got a rebate on the very first phone. I'm completely happy with the service and the company in general and have no interest in switching, but I do like to upgrade phones faily often, and I place a higher priority on the phone than the service provider. Right now it would be cheaper for me to cancel my plan and pay the $150, then sign up with someone else and get $300+ in rebates on whatever new phone I want.

because the rebate is to get new customers... if I'm already locked into a contract for another two years since I changed my plan last week, there is no benefit for them in giving me the rebate. Unless they could extend my contract out to 4 years or something ...

I'd wait for Ken's input on that. Two things seem odd... they are selling the a900 without a plan for $350, but they are going for well over $400 on eBay. Also their phone line just gives me a busy signal, I've tried calling a few times.
If they are legit, I'll order a dozen and sell them on ebay for $75 profit per.
