Hey guys, just wondering if there are any new/good phones being released in the near future for ATT wireless. My plan with Verizon is up next month and my family is switching to ATT because my dad has a blackberry for work through them. Thanks...

 

Theres tons of Stuff, depends on what you want, Are you getting a cheap plan through AT&T cuz of your dads work, cuz I wouldnt recommend it, 2 Companies I dont Recommend, AT&T and/or Sprint, they got Crappy Reception, But anyways on with the topic.

What exactly do you like, big phones, or thin small ones, Lightweight, Bluetooth?

You IM a Lot? Just depends on what your looking to do, if you just want a simple nice phone the Free phones would do fine for you

 

I think i might get the sony-ericsson t637... i reealy want bluetooth so i can download free ringers and themes...not to mention i heard good things about the phone

 

You can always use 3gupload.com and go to the sites and download them, internet is unlimited for a very cheap price.

I have the T630, It is just a T610 with a new case and better LCD, if you want something with more features like MP3, video recorder, and other things, you might want to look at something newer.

 

All i really need out of the phone is bluetooth to sync with my computer and a decent zoom vga camera on it....raheel do you have the t637- the dark silver one? How do you like it?

 

I have the T630 the black one, and I love it, it doesnt have zoom by the way.



I would recommend u get the T637, because its got the 850 Band, and it is said to have better reception because of that band, who knows, but I hear it gets a lot better signal, my T630 is A POS when it comes to signal, it cuts on me in places where my Nokias and Samsungs were perfect, I used to go to the Bank everyday and get about 1-2 bars around the bank area/roads, and now I get 0 RECEPTION! I wanna get rid of it, cuz its annoying, but the features and ease of menu and customization and everything else I love about it.

 

I wish AT&T had the Nokia 6230.

 

On Monday...ATT and Cingular are supposed to merge their cell towers. It would be great if everyone would start a thread and post their findings about how the merger affects the coverage and issues like cutouts and dropped calls. For now...I've got ATT...and I can't wait until Monday to see what happens. BTW...I'm planning to merge my contract over to Cingular next week, and mabe get a new Razor phone...I'll keep you guys posted on how things go.

 

In Atlanta the service update/merger (as of October) has been spectacular. Since AT&T GSM phones can choose the network I found Cingular to be superior at street level > 15 stories with AT&T better on higher floors.

As a point of reference I had zero service with AT&T at my loft in midtown Atlanta whereas Cingular yields 4-5 bars everywhere (80-100% signal strength).
