anyone know about this new fone by Verizon that has bluetooth?? i think its the LG VX something..... anyone have it? pros, cons?? and how much is it without new activation?

The only Verizon "bluetooth" phone i have ever seen is the Motorola 710. Its pretty much the same phone as the V551 that is for Cingular and AT&T.

 

there is also the audiovox 6600 but that is a pocket pc "slider" phone...pretty big...

 

nope not even close to being the same....v710 a a 1 megapixel camera with video outside color display upgradable memeory card slot...

read up on it..alot more diffrent..

They now have a Blackberry (7250) with Bluetooth.

Verizon is putting me through hell....

Long story short is that we just rolled out 400 Verizon 7750s out to the company. I am responsible for upgrading the BES to version 4.0. But the 7750s are too slow to run the 4.0 handheld code. So now we are chasing Verizon to get us the 7250s.....Uugh!!!

 

get it. its well worth it

Hey Mike, that phone is nowhere 1 MP quality even though it's advertised as one. It was worse than my old LG phone which I believe had 10 times less pixles! I know there was a recall or something, but a lady I work with has the same one which she just bought and the pics look just like they did on my old one, so I'm guessing they didn't fix it. My new Nokia 1 MP phone actually looks like one and it's a night and day difference between my Nokia and that old Motorola one.

 

I agree..thats why i have an LG and not a MOTO but the its whats on paper..it says 1 mega pixel...then it is 1 megapixel...

 

Yeah I know. I had the VX7000 and then switched to the MOTO, but I liked the VX a lot better even though it didn't have bluetooth.

I thought they fixed that picture problem on the moto?

 

I've never had a blackberry before, but I spend a lot of time out of the office and I'm thinking about getting this phone for it's email capabilities. Would this be a good phone for that? How does it stack up against the Treo 600/650?
Also, does it have AOL Instant messenger capabilities?

blackberry...ugh, might as well slit your wrists. Whenever I see someone on the street with the blackberry I laugh at them....the Treo 650 operates so much better...or even the P910.

I can get the 650 for Verizon, correct?
I kinda have fat fingers, which is why I liked the Blackberry a little more (although I know nothing about the capabilities of each).
Is AOL instant messenger available on both?
If someone can give me a bit more information as to why the 650 is better, that would be great...Not that I don't take your word for it Mobilezen, I just like understanding what makes something better, and not just knowing that it is better.

If you're looking particularly for awesome email support, the Blackberry is the way to go. Push email is very supreme and a lot of people enjoy it. As for general UI, I found blackberries hard to use even with a very basic menu system. I used the Treo 600 when it first came out and that was very easy to get used to. It depends on what your needs are as it varies with everybody.

 

Blackberry is better then palm in terms of crashing less, and the 650 is not out, the blackberry has a nicer keyborad and also supports 3rd party apps such as verichat (which is aol on the ne 7250)

7250 is alot faster then alot of the competing bberrys as well..

So is Verizon going to screw their customers by disabling the bluetooth features that allow for free downloading so they can charge people to download stuff for a fee?

 

I dont see it as screwing people....they are offering a service if you dont like it switch companys...they just take the profits and re-invest it into there network which happends to be the most reliable..now every person who complains about this i ask them if they mind having phones service they are happy with...and when i explain it to them they dont mind paying extra for every download since they dont download that often...

 

But if people were so damn happy about why is there a reward available for anyone who can make the bluetooth features available?

 

People will never be happy....people will always want something...if you give them full function bluetooth they are gonna want free apps, then they are gonna want free phones... if you lurke the cell phone forums..people complain about everything and anything...and money is always an issue...

Its a business..only way to have a business to succeeed is to make money and reinvest into the company...how do they expect that to happen if they dont charge for anything?

 

I think Verizon should still have a pay service for the people who want to use it to download, but not limit the phones capabilities for those who are more technically advanced and can download the stuff for free.

 

so just take advantage of the people who are less tech savy?? yea...thats how big business runs...
