since all of you are cell gurus, i need some help with phones/plans etc. i dont visit this forum very often so i expect to flamed as a cell noob. my contract is expiring w/ cingular soon, and i want to get a v600, but am afraid it will be obsolete within 6 months. i have been very happy with teh cingular, but can someone help me out please? thx in advance.

Of course there will be better phones in 6 months.
Of course you may fall in love with another phone in 2 weeks.

But the V600 will still work, all of the services Cingular offers for it will still be functional, available, current, and at a fair price. Bluetooth products will still be available. Motorola will still continue to sell accessories and provide [repair] support. And the cool ringtone generator/composer thing will probably still be on their website.

i just want to be reassured that there is nothing on the horizon for cingular as far as phones go. id hate to buy the 600 and come to find out about a new samsung/ nokia/ texas intsruments/ erector set phone is coming out that will put the 600 to shame. anybody know? cause the 600 is already a few months old.

 

There will be a new phone coming out for GSM/Cingular that will be cool, but it won't put the V600 to shame. You'll be fine.
