need some 411 on mp3 players.

i am in the market for a mp3 player and am confused about what the differences is between..

a hard drive player
a microdrive player
a flash-based player.

hard drive = moving parts
microdive = mini hard drive (moving parts)
flash memory = no moving parts (more expensive as you get to higher capacities)
