mp3 hard drive players
Looking in to buying one with at least 30 gigs. i feel that the ipod is a bit expensive, and i was looking at the nomad jukebox xtra, but that may be a little big. Are there any other options, or should i just wait until the next generation? any advice on this would be great. Thanks

I hear that once the ipods battery goes out (which only takes about 1 1/2 years) that it doesn't work. You can replace the battery by sending it back but this would cost you the same amount as buying another new one.

Maybe the iRiver may be better since it's newer unit with all the fancy options....(it's bigger then an iPod as well) but when it comes to 'navigating' through thousands of artists and songs, I'll still take the iPod.
The iRiver's scroll function is a slower and more tedious thing to go through to find a song IMO.

I'll tell you one thing......I would not have bought an iPod without the extended 2 year replacement warranty......and it's not because an iPod is a POS, it's because it's a HD based player and common sense would tell me that it could fail at any time considering it gets banged around a bit because one carries it around all the time.

does ipod sync well with pc? i heard that there are still problems with the ipod and pc's. The other thing is that is it true that once uploading music to your ipod, you can't move the music back to your computer?
