Just want to let everyone who doesnt know already that the v710 is coming out early august....offically

it looks like an unbelivable phone, but at $250 with a 2 year contract, the price is a little high for my tastes (well....budget)

 

i am gonna wait 2 weeks after it comes out to decide to get it or not....

i like to hear feedback from all the customers...first..

 

It's about fucking time! I've been wanting to switch to Verizon FOREVER, but they never had a decent phone I wanted. I almost decided to go Cingular for the V400 or 600, but noone I know has Cingular. The Verizon In-Network is what I'm after.

This phone rocks btw...

it has a lot of functions, but i'm curious about the battery life. it may be good in ultra-boring standy, but once you start using the speaker, bluetooth, and camera, the battery might take a hit. it'll be interesting to see what happens.....

Exactly. Verizon determines when a phone is going to be release, not Moto. Is this release on the VZW website? Usually if it's only the manufacturer (even tho it's a joint) then it's a little optimistic...but not too much. Should happen before Labour Day but who knows....

we just got the rebates in today for the 710 so it should be here soon. I got to play with it though at really did not like it. granted its the first bluetooth phone verizon is going to carry, i am going to hold off for somethign better. and motorola, being the fucking retards they are kept the charging port the same for the 710 which if you have or have had a moto you know is junk.

 

berner..im guessing you work for verizon..yeah i have a moto t20/730 and i know about that shitty charging port...i am debating on whether to wait for the v710 or just go with the samsung a670 even though it does not have bluetooth...it would be nice to have bluetooth to dowload ringers adn themes for free... is this v 710 kind of clunky?

 

You're like the third person who asked me that today (2 at work). Unfortunately that phone is GSM...which means Verizon=Sprint=No.

 

Yes the charging port is identical to the T720...but that's the same as the V600, too. What's wrong with it?

it doesn't always charge the first time you stick the charger into the port... and it feels really cheap compared to some of the other phones that i have owned...

 

When you put your hands on that phone, then tell me if you still like it. You can tell from the pictures....

 

The V710 will be different in the "feel cheapness category" than the 720.

Nextel i95s have the same charging ports/chargers too. Shitty for a $400 (originally) phone. I don't see any reason why the $300 v710 will be any diff. At least all my chargers will still work.

I'm with the others - Verizon's phone selection sucks. I will prob end up with one of the v710s. I'd be tempted to go back to Sprint just for the phones, but their coverage around the south sucks (been there, done that) - and they are simply horrible to deal with period.

 

So I'm hearing this phone is out already. If you look hard enough you might find one (early). I didn't think it was going to show up so quickly after I....we'll never mind. It's a pretty ok phone.

THis has alot more features then the 7k....I Love Lg and if moto is a fluke i am def gonna grab the 7k...but feature wise...moto has the mega pixel cam, the bluetooth stuff, and has SD memory stick slot...along with speaker phone ect....

i've been trying to read reviews from the cell nerds on howard forums...very mixed reviews...

so u gotta see if it is one of those phones that says, " fuck everything else, i've gotta get one of those phones"

My friend got the v710 about a week ago from RadioShack...supposdely each store got 2. Anyways, I checked it out and played with it. The screen is absolutely massive, and while the outside screen is large as well, it's resolution is a bit of a disapointment. The picture caller ID doesnt look so great, and the picture doesn't take up the whole outside display. I havent really used it much, so my biggest complaint as of now is the fact that it is a big phone. I'd call it the "Zach Morris Phone" of the new-generation clamshell phones. Motorola did, however, get rid of that annoying blip noise their phones make when you press the side buttons (those with the t720 know what i'm talking about). The video is very good, i must say, and the speaker is loud. I have the a670, and I'm happy with it becuase of the screen resolution on the inside AND the outside...and it is small. But i must say, the video on my phone sucks more than a dumb high school slut.

 

i'm just getting it because i need a new phone. its cool for what it is. way too overrated, imo.
