Motorola v710 recall
Motorola v710 recall
Just went to my local Verizon store to port my number from T-mobile and was told that Motorola has recalled all the v710s, and that I could not purchase one of their in-stock models. The salesman didn't elaborate on the recall, and said that they would only be able to sell new v710s when they get the modified phones from Motorola, so I'm stuck with terrible T-mobile for a bit longer.
FWIW, I went to another mobile phone store after the Verizon experience and the salesman there told me he knew nothing of a recall for the v710, however, he looked (and sounded) like a part-time employee (i.e. college student), so I figure the Verizon rep has good info.

Man Motorola makes really featureful phones, but Too many bugs and problems
Moto T720I - Horrible Reception and Horrible Phone, they updated it with T722I and T730 and fixed the bugs
Motorola V600 - Great Phone but Band Problems, Had to fix in new firmware, also recalled by AT&T or Cingular, I forget which one
Motorola V60 - Antenna's were weak, and you couldnt just get a new antenna if yours broke, because for most people, the soldered part inside broke
But anyways, I have loved Motorola phones, designs and features, but they have wayy too many problems, even though the new e398 and V80 look very appealing.

I just enquired with the Veri rep and was told this phone is out of stock and also, they've raised the price from $249 - $300, and that he does not have a date when it will be available again.
Confirmed with Verizon
Yup! Not available until further notice....for a damn 1.2 mgpxl crappy camera that no one cares about. What's the point...I mean really. There's something wrong with this society to care about a camera on a phone
