Motorola T720 firmware update question

I have a Motorla T720 w/ verizon and want to update the firmware. I have the data cable for it to connect it to my computer.

Does anyone know where I can get the software to do the update, as well as the firmware for my phone?

Wrong place for this but I'm sure you can get some help in the mobile phone section.

How did you get so many revisions behind? Usually a [good] phone has one maybe two post-launch versions at best. You can't go by the version # to determine "how many" you are behind.

Besides, you will probably fry your phone if you try to do the upgrade yourself. Motorola uses a dongle...

Ummmm what he said! Besides if you do it yourself your most likely gonna f#ck up your phone. Trust me!!! Just take it into the Verizon store and they will upgrade it to the T730 software. If your lucky they might even just exchange it for the new T730. I took my T720 to the store so many times that they eventually just exchanged it for a new T730!

I hate my T720 so passionately. The screen gets all messed up, they've had to take it apart to solder the charging harness twice, the antenna broke off, just one big disaster.

Even though you have the Motorola software and the Motorola cable, a piece of hardware is needed to attach to your computer to make everything work. And you can't simply purchase a Motorola dongle any place. They used to use this for StarTACs; don't know about the new stuff but most likely.

Motorola = shit...this v60 is GONE when the antenna breaks again, since the first fix was free. ATT is probalby gone at the same time as well...if VZW has good GSM coverage here.

I'll never buy another Motorola phone - antenna broke off (twice), charger receptor thingy keeps breaking inside the phone - first fix was under warranty, this one isn't. The software inside is a mess (screen is all jumbled) and Verizon isn't helping me out. Good thing my f%^&$ng contract comes up in November and I can get a new phone then.

For the record guys, Verizon doesn't provide GSM service anywhere in the country.

I think I have a few Moto antennas for those who are in a bind, V60 and all other except T720.

First Verizon or Sprint would have to buy it and second, it's gonna be big and ugly. I've been hearing about this CDMA/GSM phone for years now (Vaporware). So what is the benefit of having such a phone since the CDMA will NOT allow you to roam on GSM locally.

The benefit is using GSM overseas only, they are keeping CDMA obviously, and definately dont want you using a GSM network in the US.
