Motorola E815 Good?

About to switch to verizon through my job since we get a nice discount on the monthly bill and this phone would only be $69.99.

Anyone know if its a good one? been out of the loop for a while since the phone I am currently using is 3+ yrs old.

Ive got one

Got it last week for 19.99 and its been good so far. Its a little big and has tons of "stuff" that ill probably never use. It has great reception and battery life. Its one of the few verizon handsets left that don't have the annoying verizon UI. For the most part everyone over at howardforums.com likes it and they are very picky. I think the only known problem is a slight echo, but a soon to be released firmware upgrade is supposed to fix that

I hate mine.

It freezes all the time while I'm entering numbers or text messages. About 1 out of every 10 messages I send the phone will freeze and then completely reset itself. Also, I (nor Verizon Wireless for that matter) can get any Get It Now or VCast features to work on my phone while I'm in the "EV" coverage area. It works perfectly fine in "1x" but never in "EV"

Actually really close to saying fuck it and buying a new phone. At first I loved it but now I hate it.

Also, the top hinge where you lift the phone up to talk is starting to come loose. The top outer gap between the display half the phone and the battery half of the phone is becoming to come apart. The phone has never been dropped either.

The only really good things about the phone are the picture quality, great reception, and great battery life.

I also get the echo when using Bluetooth and I've tried two different headsets.

I have it and it works fine for me. Occasionally it does freezes up and lags. But it has great reception compared to my sisters vx5200 which only gets one bar while i get 4 bars constatnly in my house. i would give it a shot and if you don't like it get it changed.

are u kidding with the good picture quality?!?!? its HORRIBLE!

but the good thing about this phone is that its completly HACKABLE!

you can seem edit the phone and get everything back that verizon crippled. full bluetooth and u can make and use ur own ringtones and backgrounds, which i think is worth ANY set back this phone has

i have the V710 which is the downgraded version of the E815 and as soon as i need to get a new phone ill get the E815 because i can make my own ringtones and have FULL bluetooth.

The E815 has a much better camera than the V710. I've had both.
