Moto V710
WOW! I got it on Monday, $250 with 2 year contract upgrade. She's a beaut' Clark!
It has everything I wanted in a phone. Bluetooth for my Jabra handsfree, Trimode, external display, good batter life, great RF and the menus are great. I really don't know what people expect when they bitch about the menus in new phones. If you're technically savvy, and you should be buying this phone, then wrap your head around it and get use to it.
The voice dial, digit dial works flawlessly and does so over the Jabra too. My only question is this (to Mikie and Ken); how do I set the BT code? When I paired the two, I used the default code, 0000 but I remember Mike saying something about changing this code. How do I do it?

I thought it was something that needed to be done to make it more secure. Keep other from getting into the phone book, etc.. Can't that be done? Can some one download my phone book?
I thought you wanted to change the BT code in the device, not the handset.
There is no BT code in the phone itself. Whenever a device tries to pair with your handset, the handset must acknowledge usually with a code.
However, there are some minor security concerns with BT. And they are minor and have nothing to do with the code.
Motorola says they are not susceptible to these minor security issues. But you'll need to search to Internet to find out why some people think there are potential security issues and what can be done to protect yourself. I honestly don't believe anyone is going to steal your phonebook without you knowing it.

cool toy. i picked up the mototola hs820 bt headset, it works great. i pretty much wear it all the time.... very light...
some quirks in the phone tho.... like it resets itself when using wap2.0... its a moto, so it can't be perfect.

My first v710 which I got a week ago today kept freezing up, and just got a new fresh out the box one today. And IT KEEPS FREEZING!!!! I don't know what's wrong. Any thoughts??
The screen will freeze to the point every button does not work, and simply beeps. When I hit the camera, the camer comes one but without the camer window (just the visual display).
I may buy a friends old Verizon phone and wait for the v810, hmm...

That's odd. Mine is perfect. I'm not using the web, yet, so I cant speak for that but otherwise, no freeze ups.
Yes you can group different numbers under one contact.
1. open the phone book
2. hit the Menu button (center top, 4 horizontal. bars.)
3. arrow down to Setup and select it.
4. change View By to List, Sort By to Name, and View to Primary Contacts
When adding another number to a contact, select that contact then hit the Edit button. Arrow down to ....More.... and select phone number to add it.
Hope this helps.
Can you group different phone numbers for the same person? My sister has the V600 and it appears that she cannot. It lists the same person with different numbers.

2. hit the Menu button (center top, 4 horizontal. bars.)
3. arrow down to Setup and select it.

Oh, once you have the View set to the above, to select the number you want to dial for a contact, highlight it, then hit the left or right arrow keys to scroll thru the numbers. It just shows the icons for mobile, home, works office, etc.. so make sure you set the type each number is in the contact's entry.

oh man, shouldn't have done that. I just got the vx7000 and not only is it big, but it's UGLY! it's one of the ugliest phones i've ever seen. the buttons are bigger than the ones on my home phones. I gotta admit it's easy to use and i like the camera/video options and you can even hear sound, but i just didn't want an ugly phone for 2 years. The screens look good btw, but the camera makes it really ugly and cheap looking.
Guess what I chose instead, once they get this one back?
v710.
