Lost my Cell phone!!

This is the most annoying feeling...I was in school all day, and I walk to my car, and I was going to call my friend. I looked in my pocket, no phone. I look in my backpack, no phone. I start bugging out, I drive my car to the library (where I was last) no phone anywhere, and the people at the front desk haven't seen it. I had used my phone in there to send a text message, and cant think of what I would have done with it. I always put it in my pocket/bag. That was the last place I used it. I find it so frustrating, because it had to be in there somewhere...Only thing I can think of is I left it on the table and someone bucked it.

It was a Motorola RAZR, so a pretty decent phone. I'm not to upset about the phone, just upset about the contacts. Is there anyway to retrieve them without my old SIM card? I'm going to go to Cingular tomorrow, to get a new SIM card, since my friend gave me a phone to use for now.

What are my chances of getting this phone back? When I call the # it just rings, so I guess it's still ON. I left the phone on silent, so that is also a negative.

Is there anyway to track a phone? (location) I have a feeling it just fell out of my bag or something.

Also is it retarded that I haven't canceled it yet? I hope some asshat isnt calling England on my phone.

too bad you can't do a trace on it using the gps, which would tell you exactly where it is. not sure how to help you, maybe cingular can do this for you.

I literally used it at 1:45pm to call my friend to tell him about a test we had, and that was the last I ever seen it? Can you still locate a cell phone, even if the battery is dead?

As of right now the Battery is still going, since when I call it...It just rings...

I find it so weird to just think of it "sitting somewhere" i mean it obviously didn't evaporate, its sitting somewhere.

could it be somewhere in your car. Maybe it fell under your seat?

Ya going to do the full cavity search tommorow morning...From now on I'm never leaving my phone on Silent again!

I have to leave it on silent for classes, but definitely going to use Vibrate from here on out!

Good news is last phone call made was at 1:41pm so that's a good sign (at least no1 probably has it or is using it)

unfortunately after the battery dies, you will be unable to continue to locate it.

As far as I know, there are no services to locate it. I would just call your provider and tell them to lock out the Sim Chip.

Time to pony up for a new phone.

BTW, mods if you feel it's appropriate you can move it to mobile phone section...

Well today I got a new sim card, for 25.00 and I'm currently using my friends old Motorola PEBL that he had...It's unlocked so I just chucked the new sim card in. It's alright...

Does anyone recommend any cingular phones to get?

The blackjack is a nice phone. Phonescoop tested it and found that is has the best signal strength of any GSM phone they have ever tested. Only problem is that the battery life is bad (they provide two batteries in the retail package).

I recommend going into the Cingular store and taking your time to play around with all the phones there.

Sorry to hear that. There is no way to retrieve your contect numbers. Cingular should able to give you a new sim card for free but no free phone.

apparently it works great... haven't tried it myself
mind you i donno if it's quite worth the 2.99 monthly fee... but if you loose it often i guess it could be worth it

Mebbe it's that dreaded karma curse-curse from scoring a prized gaming machine on launch day while others clawed/bit/kicked/pinched for one...?

In all seriousness, it does suck to lose your phone...hope you find it before the battery runs out.
