Looking for Replacement Cell Phone
Looking for Replacement Cell Phone
My 4-5 year old cell phone looks like it died, so it's time for a replacement. I'm on Verizon Wireless and would like the new phone to sync well with the Bluetooth in my 2006 TSX.
I don't want or need the latest do-everything phone, so I'm just looking at the free phones here: http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/p...plash/ewp?v=16
I don't text or surf the web with my phone. I just want good voice reception, good battery life and good compatibility with the TSX.
So, any recommendations on these phones (or perhaps other low-cost Verizon phone)?
Thanks!

It tells you what phones were tested and works with all Acura vehicles. I've noticed not all Bluetooth is created equally. Certain phones do work better than others (sound quality, hands free, staying sync, etc..). There are still a lot of phones out there that will still work with our car that is not on the list.
I've used Blackberry 8530 Curve (Verizon and Sprint networks), Blackberry push-to-talk 8350 (Nextel/Sprint), Motorola Razr (Alltel), and Apple iPhone 3GS (AT&T).
From my experience, the Apple iPhone sounds the best to folks on the other end; sometimes they don't realize I'm hands free at 70mph on the hwy. The Razr phone was just A-OK; but, it was a model we used from 2006-2008. The blackberry seems to drop the sync every once in a while and the sound quality is pretty good.
I have a RDX and TSX and I've noticed I can't keep the iPhone (wife phone) and Blackberry (my phone) sync'd at the same time in both cars. Both cars allow me to sync the phones together and then I will drop one or the other a week or two later. I'm not sure it is because of different networks, Bluetooth modules, or just different phones.
