Looking for computer case...
i am looking for a new computer case, I currently have a Dell 9100. I just want a new case to add fan controllers and led fans and such. Also a case with a clear side window. If I get a aftermarket case will everything just wire up? Is there a certain kind of case i should be looking for?
Plz post links of cases that you think will suit my needs.

Big Block go VROOOM!
Do your research thoroughly. I don't know if this is still true, but Dell has put out desktops in the past that have motherboards with proprietary sizes. i.e. they did not fit into a standard ATX computer case.

But I've heard the same thing where they don't fit a standard case.. Go to Dells website and ask on the forums they have there..

Most dells use custom cases and motherboards. You most likely wont be able to change the case unless you custom drill. The only current dell that i know of that uses regualr ATX style cases is the XPS.

I'm also selling my Powmax 2347 Sliver with Side window for 40. I just got a larger case for some more toys. All you need is a good PSU or you can use the one from your Dell. Here's a pic
You can switch on /off the blue paralell lights but the color panel in the front stays on and randomly changes colors. There's also a front panel you can use on the bottom for USB and/or sound hookups
The DVD burners and floppy drive shown aren't included. Email me if interested

I've been thinking about the up and comming Antec P150 case. I'm not into the lights very much, so I focus my time on the system being quiet.
If you want a nice case (low frills) for a decent price, I recommend the Antec solutions series SLK2650 BQE. I just built a system in one Yesterday. I got it for $40 after rebate.
In any case, as someone already mentioned...I'd have some serious concerns about transplating a Dell into a standardized ATX case. I've heard that their power connections aren't even standard, so you may have problems using a non-dell power supply. Be careful with that, or you will damage the system.

hit up your local computer show. I just purchased an all aluminum case with slide oout hard drive bays, full system info LCD display and tons fans, with a 550 watt power supply for 60 bucs. I wouldnt use their power supply, but the case is hot.

I got a Lian LI PC65B case and love it to death. Only stupid thing about it is
the USB connect for the front ports, but outside of that,it's just an absolute joy to pull stuff in and out of - cards, hard drives, you name it. If you like adding parts/modding your PC, there's nothing quite like a good case.
