I really didn't think there would be much action today. Ken and I were in agreement about that.

God were we wrong! If this keeps pace, things are gonna be F'ed up in the industry.

I heard the reports about the lines at the stores, how bad was your store with people coming into Verizon, yuppie? People were happy to wait in some markets for like an hour!

at 8.30am my location had apparantly 10 people already standing opposite the glass doors.... a full 1.5 hrs before we opened. i didnt get the report of the end of day numbers, i know they were busy... by noon they were up to 42 new activations. december is going to be a killer. no word on if any systems crashed.... i'm off until wednesday, so hopefully most technical issues are desolved by then...

There are reports on the cellular newsgroups with actual store numbers. It's "interesting."

ATT has many more customers to give up. I haven't seen a report with the ratios in it yet ... that will tell for sure.

a 24 hour local news channel yesterday had reporters at the areas largest Verizon/Sprint/Cingular stores...

The all seemed equally busy. I've heard people switching to Cingular for carry over minutes... I've heard people switching to Verizon and Sprint cuz their Verizon and Sprint.

I've heard alot of people LEAVING Nextel... NOBODY going to them.

And I dont know anyone going to ATT... but their fairly new in this market.

I know a few people going to T-Mobile... who has good coverage and good phones around here.

Yes, I know. BUT....

For whatever reason, there are some store people that have printed out the stats from their computer and have posted some kind of tally "unofficial" tally sheet, I don't know what they got going on in the store these days.

Can't make that stuff up.....

okay, some official reports are in. i won't post them (obviously) but the figures are something like 20 in for every 1 out. most are coming from At&t and Sprint.

its like 10 to 1 here in the NY metro market.... still awesome.
