what do you guys do with spare parts from upgrades and such? i hold on to them incase some thing isnt working right i have something i can use to assist in trouble shooting but i have things like old harddrives that dont work old dial up modems mice keybords speakers and such some are still new and some were only used a few times

Harddrives I would keep, depending on the size. Modems and speakers would be trash... I would keep maybe one keyboard...

 

i hold on to hard drives, memory sticks, and video cards.

yea, stuff like modems, sound cards, fans, cables, etc i'll just throw away unless somone needs it.

oh and i keep an extra keyboard and mouse

 

If I upgrade, it's the entire PC.

My older PC's are either kept for Development or cleaned up and given to friends/family.

 

I like to take magnets out of hard drives that don't work.

Other than That I usually end up giving stuff to friends. Right now I'm getting a computer ready for this guy doughter in mexico.

Managed to find a 1.6 ghz celeron, 512 mb of ram and a 20 gb hd, motherboard, and case with psu in my room. I think I still have a 17 inch dell crt in my trunk i'll pair with it (I couldn't even get a charity to take the damned thing).
