LCD tv help please....dumbass adam is always away on AIM
ok
my mom wants to buy a TV, but is limited on space....im helping her out, anyways, my mom wont buy anything online, its gotta be a local store, like Best Buy or something like that...
anyways,
we saw this LCD Sony TV today, http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTE...tSKU=KF42WE610
in case the link doesnt work, its the Sony KF-42WE610, its not plasma, but according to a few sources, LCD lasts longer.....
personally i think a plasma would last as long as someone would want it to...but what do i know...
she doesnt want to spend more than 3500u.s.
for her budget, is this the best TV she can get that will save her space???
Any other recomendations? Anyone know if this TV is crap?
Anyone know about the picture quality? The place i saw it, the picture quality was crap, but thats cause they had like a hundred TV's and according to them, the split feed makes it look like crap....i believed it, since all the other tv's there even the Sony XBR tv they had looked like shitty picture quality.
Thanks guys, and again, no online deals, since my mom wouldnt do that.
btw, the tv is going somewhere that wont have too much Sunlight, so thats not really a issue.

Amir...Circuit City has a $150 rebate on that model this week. I was just looking at the circular when I saw your post.
Says it's only 14 inches deep too...sounds nice...only 65 lbs

What you are about to see is about 4 months of saving aside and not indulging in leisure activities to buy this t.v. Hold on.

For the money and space - LCD projections are gonna be your best bet. Also take a look at the DLP projection units.
ADVICE: Before you buy, take a DVD that you know well to the store. Request they take a nice progressive scan DVD player (not the $49 apex) and a set of cables over to the TV(s) that you are looking at. Play the same chapter of the movie on all of the TVs. Without back to back comparison, it's doubtful you'll notice if one looks diff than the other - but you will notice things about the TV (blurred action, jaggies, etc).
Plasmas can last for a good while. The shit about them not lasting long comes from places like our local trade center b/c they keep them on 24/7. They just replaced all 38 of theirs after having them just a tad over three years. That could get expensive...
