LCD Rear Projection

Ok guys...in the market for a new TV. I'm confused as to which technology to choose from. LCD Rear Projection / Plasma / Rear Projection / DLP. Im leaning towards the LCD Rear Projection...namely the Hitachi 60V500. What do u guys think/recommend?

Yeah...I was looking at the rear projection LCDs as well. The only problems I could find were dead pixels and bulb burnouts. I don't mind changing a bulb now and then but don't want to have to do it every year.....

I looked through that guide above....says "no maintenance" on LCD projection tvs however I've read that you need to change them and I downloaded the guide which shows you how to do it. Does anyone know how often this will occur?

i would go plasma, better contrast ratio which means more life like shades of dark colors, i just got back from NAB [national assosiation of brodcast equip.] and there is sum tight shit comming out within the next 5 years....2.1 k HDTV =). if you have the money and just want a home theater... DLP, everyday tv i would go plasma, in my opinion i think LCD is garbage, but to each his own.

no way dood.

i have plasmas......... their COOL. but unless your buying a 10K+ plasma the picture quality is nothing to be astounded by.

until you get above 10, at least 8K you arent getting picture quality even compareable to a ~2k RPTV of any type.

grey != black

I’ve NEVER seen a Plasma that had acceptable black levels.
They don’t do BLACK, they do DARK GRAY.

isnt samsung the only DLP tv on the market right now? they're the only ones ive seen at the stores like CC and BB. I dont really like they way they look either compared to the LCD rear proj. The DLP's look too green and just dont look 'warm' enough. the remnants seem to be worse on them too...but that's just my opinion.

If your patient, as I've said a few times. LCoS tv's will be a ton cheaper (there like $8k now) at the end of the year.

Do a search on google for "intel lcos"

I agree with Soopa and Shawn too.

BB and CC do not sell top of the line models.
