Everytime I close the lid on my Dell D600 notebook, it resizes my desktop to 800 x 600. I have to change it manually back to 1024 x 768. How do I stop this irritating change?

 

When you "close the lid" is Windows running, sleep mode or shut down?

I assume you have checked ALL of your display settings and your "sleep mode" settings? Closing the lid with Windows running puts most notebooks in sleep mode. If all these settings are correct, look for an updated display driver. Dell.com shounld have one if available.

When I "close the lid" I have the option checked that says "Do nothing." I'll check dell.com soon.

 

dont know what it could be. But check the faq section at dell and maybe do a search on google for some reviews and problems on your laptop model. Maybe someone has encountered this and knows what to do. I say do all this first, because dell is a bastard to get on the phone when you need help. And once you get them on, it's someone overseas.
