laptop driver help!!

laptop driver help!!
i have compaq presario 2500 2570us and it came with toshiba DVD/CD-R drive. and i recently formated my computer and i have no driver for my cd rom. does anybody have one or coudl help me out?? rite now it just DVD-rom don't have any access to my cd-r dirve. HELP~~~!!!

Do a google search for the name of your CD / DVD writer. Well, start at Toshiba's site and see if they keep them online. Then do that google search. Did you get a new OS for your laptop? XP 'should' pick it up right.

You actually don't need a 'driver' for it. You just need CD-burning software. Sometimes it's on an 'application' CD that comes with your computer. Or you can just download something like Nero at http://www.nero.com.

programs like that come with their own atapi driver
