Just bought a new phone.

Blackberry Curve 8330

I love it!

Have some questions though. I FAIL so much.

1. How to set up my email?
2. What's the media card? Where can I buy it? Where do I put it on? (I'm guessing its a storage card? for music, video, pictures, etc.) Which one (size) should I buy?
3. I bought the 24.99 monthly program since I didn't really know what to do with it. Should I upgrade it to $44 one? What's the difference between the two services? (unlimited something something, idk)

I'm just a super noob with this thing.

What are some of the coolest things that I can do with this phone? Thanks guys.

There should be a mail set up wizard on the home screen. Alternately you can log on to your BIS server and set it up that way. The address depends on your carrier. AT&T for instance is: http://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=mycingular

2. What's the media card? Where can I buy it? Where do I put it on? (I'm guessing its a storage card? for music, video, pictures, etc.) Which one (size) should I buy?

Yes, Media card is a storage card. the 8330 takes a micro SD card. You can buy a bunch of different sizes and a few different brands. Basically depends on how much stuff you want to store.

Program? Are you talking about BIS? (Blackberry Internet Service) You will need this to get online, BB Mess and other features. THe unlimited one is good if you will be using alot of data. Constant emails, web browsing ect.

I'm just a super noob with this thing.

There's a bunch of things to do with the phone. Mostly a business device. There are alot of forums out there for BB but my favorite is Pinstack. Check it out: http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com/

If you need help with anything PM me and we can discuss there or I'll give you my PIN and we can do it that way. let me know!

The BB messanger program is only for conversations with others with BB's. You would need to have their PIN number associated with their device to have them added. Try this... Click Here

I do not know who your carrier is but you are fine with the lower priced data plan as long as you are not getting email through a company that is tied in with BB's enterprise server (BES).

If you are still having problems with the web try this.... Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Menu (button with 7 dots) > Register Now. This should add some new icons to your main screen with the web being one of them.

Thanks.

I have verizon wireless. And, I've only added my school's email and gmail so far. Guess it'll be fine right?

My plan says Web & Email (10 mb) for 24.99 a month. I have no idea what that means. There's 44.99 for the unlimited data usage... I should get that plan next month huh? if I really want to add anything to my BB.

Also, does it cost to put a big media card and storage music and video files in my BB?

I'm so confused as to how much I can really play with this thing... I don't want to end up getting a HUGE bill in the end...

Stupid ass salesmen forcing me to get the cheap plan.

Bump up to the unlimited $30 BB web and email plan. If not you will get slammed with a huge bill. BB's are always transfering data. The $45 is only for corporations who use the BES server. I didnt even know you could do the 10mb plan on BB's. Not recommended AT ALL.

I would highly recommend getting atleast a 1gb card to hold ringers, music, pics, and video. BB's do not come with a lot of storage built in. If you do not have a card and memory is low it will delete your call log and txt to free up space. It wont even warn you when happening.

I word for Verizon so I can change the plan for you if you would like. Check your PM

oh! you work for Verizon?

When I was looking at those different plans, there weren't $30 BB web and email plan.

These are what I remember:

1. 24.99 web & email (10 mb)
2. 35.99 web & email (don't know)
3. 44.99 everything unlimited.

are you sure Verizon has $30 plan for BB??
