iTunes Question

Hey guys, WTF is up?

Anyways...I just bought a iPod Touch off my friend (old member "Shiffy") and I've been loading it up.

Put 3 movies on there, 4 games, and a bunch of apps from the app store on iTunes. I have about 400 songs I want to add now, and it's saying that if I want to "Sync" it...It has to delete all my stuff on my iPod to add the new library. Is there anyway around this?

Also is there any must haves for the Touch?

Well I can add the songs, but its saying it needs to DELETE EVERYTHING since it's a NEW LIBRARY? I spent the whole day adding Entourage Episodes, Movies, etc. And paid for some of the stuff, so I'm a little confused.

there are other freeware programs you can manage your ipod with so if you just want to get the songs on there for now you should be able to. There are also some shareware ones that are fully functional for x amount of days. I've used xplay before it worked great. Not sure it supports the touch though, i have a nano.

That's what I was going to recommend. Go to options on your itunes and switch it to "manually manage music and video". Once you have done this, you will have to add music manually, but you can hook it up to lots of different computers without fear of losing your library.

listen up heres your answer whatever is in your library dont worry about it when it syncs it deletes whats on it and replaces it with what ever you have on itunes. so for instance everything that you bought is probably on your itunes but not on your ipod because you didnt sync it. so when you do sync it it will delete what you have on your ipod and replace it with anything and everything you have on your itunes currently. so everything you bought will now be on your ipod after you stnc it.

I've used this free program when I got a used ipod. It's a very simple and easy program.

http://www.longfingers.com/ipodfolder/

Windows and Mac OS X only: Freeware program iPod -> Folder allows users a super-simple way to do a full backup of their iPod on any Mac or Windows computer.

We've actually posted a few methods for backing up your iPod in the past, but iPod -> Folder is a nice standout both for its simplicity and is Windows and Mac versions. The downside is that iPod -> Folder doesn't allow you to selectively backup music, so it's an all-or-nothing affair. That said, this is a great little app to download and stick on your iPod so you can easily "back up" your music at any computer. Thanks Rory! — Adam Pash
