I'm looking into getting a smart phone
Well, I'm thinking about going do a data plan and getting a smart phone since I've had the same old Nokia since I signed up for my plan over 2 years ago.
Motorola Q
Treo 700wx
Blackberry 8703e
Audiovox 6700
Does anyone here have any experience with these phones?

I have the Moto Q, its pretty ok. Battery life sucks though, you have to get the extended battery. I cant tell you much about how the net and email stuff works because I didnt do the data plan yet. Unless you get the Q that just came out with Verizon, I dont believe you can d/l ringtones on the phone, which is no big deal to me anyway.
A friend of mine had the Treo, he had to send it to get repaired twice, it kept shutting off and erasing all his data, so you might wanna research that a little more. Other phones you listed I have no clue

I have the BB Curve with AT&T..I love it but no 3G WTFFFFFF??????
Nice phone, great for email communication....solid looks and GUI
the Q is nice...if you are with ATT then you are gonna pay an arm and a leg...
hit me up for 15% off moto store!

The carrier is Alltel.
That's weird, I heard there were bugs with the Moto Q. People having to send them back in five times and finally getting the sixth to work. Are you sure you're talking about the Treo 700wx and not just the 700w? The wx is the new one they just came out with that has more memory than it's predecessor and supposedly didn't crash as much. The 700w would just freeze up when you were trying to do too many things at once.
My uncle owns a cell phone shop up in NY and I literally just got home from dropping my dad off at the airport to go up there. I gave him the model numbers of those 4 phones and he's going to see what kind of prices he can get on them instead of having to go through Alltel. I am past the original 2 year contract and am eligible for an upgrade, so I can get them pretty cheap through Alltel anyway. We will see.

I ended up getting the Moto Q from the store -- I'm actualy on it right now. Cost me $215 -$100 mail in rebate from Alltel. I've been on it a lot and the battery seems fine so far.
They said to not let the battery go all the way down or it will freeze up when it tries to enter the boot down screen, so I might have to look into getting one.
I found out how to use the task manager where you can go and close programs that stay open in the background after you're done using them so hopefully that will free up some memory to prevent that if it ever gets that far down.
Thanks for the input everyone.

Just a couple things you have to look forward to...
Email syncing
Video gaming (NES/SNES/Sega Genesis/Gameboy etc)
Playing music (make sure you get at least a couple 2GB Mini SD cards or a couple 4GB ones)
GPS Navi
Watching movies (download the TCPMP player because windows media player sux)
Youtube access (check out the hack in the forums)
DVD 2 Mobile (a must have) there are a few programs out there that can help you convert your favorite full length movies to fit your Mini SD card. One 2GB can hold up to 8 full length movies shown in crystal clear quality
Slingbox for live TV/Satellite/Cable/Tivo...
There's alot more you can do but as you discover each on your own you're going to love the phone even more. I can do these on the Dash as well but that network Verizon has cannot be beat at least where I am. How's Alltel network?
Alltel is usaly great. Most of my friends have it too so I barely use 250 mins a month.
I found everythingq.com on my own last night but I'll check out the other place tonight. I've already got the NES emulator with a few games and a couple other games. I also bid on a 2GB mini SD card last night. I didnt get a chance to look at the hacks but I definitely will later tonight because the streaming vids weren't worling for me last night. Do you know of a good place for Themes/Home Screens?

What GPS navi program are you using? That would be nice to have.
Where can I find the TCPMP player to play the movies once I convert them to the smaller mobile form?
I also gotta do a search for Slingbox later for the TV thing.
I just have to wait on this memory card b/c this thing has shit for memory on it. 50MB FTMFL.

When browsing or texting it really doesn't die that fast but the streaming video really kills it. I am still trying to win a mini SD card to store everything on to see if that helps with the battery.
Don't bother with the Audiovox 6700, the 6800 from HTC is the newer version (Audiovox rebranded the 6700 from HTC originally). The 6800 is the Mogul for Sprint and there is a Verizon version as well, I just don't know if it's out yet or when it will be out.
There is a mention of the 6800 here...
