HTC Diamond (replaces Sprint mogul/touch)
I'm shocked no one has posted this yet...
http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/06/h...-and-official/
# Windows Mobile 6.1
# VGA Screen
# Quad-band HSDPA 7.2
# One-touch navigation, including single-finger dialing
# An accelerometer that rotates pictures as you rotate the phone
# One-touch music playback with an animated music browser
# A heavily-animated weather forecast app
# Full-featured desktop-like web browser (Opera) with zoom-in tech that actually reformats to fit the screen upon zoom, although Microsoft promises IE 6 coming soon for it
# Youtube app and content playback
# Available in June in Europe via Orange and the "rest of the world" sometime later
# Orange music store, games, wallpapers, and ringtone downloads
# Orange mobile TV with up to 61 channels
# No normal headphone jack - gotta use HTC's proprietary USB dongle
# "Better battery life" than their other devices (although it uses a smaller battery than the Touch - we'll keep our eye on this) -- will offer a bigger battery at a later time for those who are experiencing battery life issues

waiting for this one. I was actually going to replace my touch with the Instinct, but now that i have the Alltel Rom with Rev. A and GPS on my touch, i am happier than a pig in shit. I will wait it out and grab the diamond when released.

I love this phone, but there are no set plans for a US release.
From what I read, the Raphael will be replacing the Sprint Touch/Mogul as the phone above is a quad band HSDPA phone.
I hope it comes to AT&T eventually - closest thing to being iPhoneish with Win Mo.

the cost is what worries me. even with the $150 upgrade, the diamond may cost a bit too much for me. that's why i keep leaning towards the instinct.
i've never had a smart phone/pda before.
can someone enlighten me with the benefits of windows mobile?

Nice interface.
I wonder when MS will figure out that their Windows Mobile OS is running on PHONES? Not everyone wants to use a stylus to use their phone.
Right now they leave it up to 3rd party apps (like HTC and SPB) to make the interface user friendly.
I am using SPB Mobile Shell 2.0 and it is great! I would highly recommend it to anyone using Windows Mobile.

So does anyone have one yet? At least they are selling GSM versions. Personally, I had a blackberry 8800 with AT&T before my Mogul but my reception was so crappy, I had to switch to Sprint.
