how to edit mp3 tags???

another zune question haha.

some of my music when i put it into my zune software will catagorize in the "unknown artist, or unknown album" section. i'm kind of a perfectionist and i like my music to be nice and neat order. is there a certain software to edit the mp3 tags? i've tried to change the info in the zune software but it'll refer itself back to the "unknown artist section"

thanks for the help!

mp3tag is a good program if you want to do multiple edits at the same time.

that's what I do and have a Zune 80!

I mean if he already has iTunes (I assumed he did) there's no need to download and learn how to use another program.

I actually like the Zune software much better. They have minor flaws, but is usually easy to work around that.

I have the same problem w/ iTunes, apparently it doesnt work. It works with some songs but not with all of them. Also, some do change, but when you double click on them to play them, it reverts back to the old info I have about 6,000+ songs so I just gave up.

that's the exact reason i got a Zune, other than it had more features than the ipod. the zune software is great (other than the fact that editing the mp3 tags won't work) but it's a quick fix in winamp and i'm good to go, if i fix the id3 tag just right, the zune software will even download the album art. i try to stay away from itunes or anything created by apple.

MediaMonkey is another good one. I've been using it to add album art to my mp3's.

So just load all your songs in winamp, edit them, then they should load into Zune correctly.

I have the same problem as you and w/ 10k+ songs it's a PITA. Wish my intunes library could transfer over to my Zune as is.

you gotta add the music to your library and then once your music is showing up in your library, then select the items you want to edit right click, and then click on edit selected items, and there you will have direct access to the id3 tag

so has anyone had experience with the generic ebay zune car chargers? i hooked up my blitzsafe adapter the other day and it works beautifully, but now i need to find a charging method

^What type of car do you have?

And I just download WinAmp and MediaMonkey to try out since I have to edit my entire library (like every song). Which would be better for doing this?

I usually do this in my XP machine not Vista, because the metadata fields that Vista comes up are like 50 I don't care about and 2 I do. XP's "advanced" properties shows exactly the only fields I care about.

And I don't know what you people are doing in iTunes, but I use it under XP/Vista and I haven't had any problems in like 3 years.

Exact same thing. I also have a wall charger, i havent tried yet but i assume it wont work either. The other thing that sucks, is that the zune website doesnt sell just a car charger. They are attached to FM transmitters, and with the blitzsafe its useless.
