HomeTelephone Brands

So, I am always really anal about keeping all my receipts and filing all paperwork with products I buy...Now, the one time I need the stuff I can't find what I did with it. So, I'm shit out of luck...

Anyway, I 've always bought and used Panasonic cordless units. Less then a year ago I bought a Panasonic Fax, cordless, digital ansering machine. It has now effectively shit the bed. I thought it was just the hand unit, and was going to just buy a new battery to test, but now it wont even receive faxes. Just white paper goes through without printing anything...yes i changed the roller in it.

So, I'm going to have to take the stupid thing as a loss and was wondering what makes of phones you guys use, cause i think Panasonic just lost my business in the phone dpet for awhile.

My wife and I have had the best success with AT&T brand phones. Not sure if it's a coincidence, but we own a Panasonic and tried a Uniden phone and both are inferior.

Take a look at epinions.com - we got some good info about phones.

I've had a Sony 900 Mhz for six years and it has never had a problem, except for the battery (nickel cadmium ). It still looks and works like it is brand new.
I don't see any Sony phones nowadays though, so I guess that's out.

Aside from that, I suggest NOT purchasing VTech products. As the saying goes "you get what you pay for". In this case, garbage.

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Panas...oductDetail.do

I've never had a problems w/ Panasonic before.....and this is thing is was bought in like May or June....but it was really frustrating specially cause i needed the fax yesterday. I just wish I could the damn receipt or documents so I could at least get it fixed under warranty.

Oh...and I would NEVER buy a V-Tech....

^^I have that same generation Panasonic and I'm about to through it through the window. It has been the biggest pile of shit for me and is now basically a papweight. I'm sick and tired of its problems so i use my cell for everything now.

The battery doesnt last for more than 30 minutes of talk time anymore and the ringer died. I get static at times, wich i thought was impossible with this phone I FUCKING hate this thing.

Mine worked great till the last 2 weeks.

The handset is useless cause the mic doesnt work, the ring sounds like its in a blender... the speaker phone on the main unit now has tons of feedback, and it wont print a fax/make a copy......i can send a fax fine.

Just a nuissance i dont want to deal with.

So, I looked at Pannys website and they have an 800 number for their faxes. I called and they my phone only had a 6 mos warranty to begin with so i was well out of period.

But, the guy did give the sequences to reset the handset and the base unit. Went home for lunch....viola....everything works great now. Lucky me!

Oh and Pannys customer service for the faxs anyway They said call back if it doesnt work and they'll see about trying to do something before just giving up and having to get whole new phone.

Panasonic - year in and year out. Product leader, reliable, very user friendly, almost intuitive.

I like AT&T phones. They always seem ready and willing to take a beating.

I have 2 Sony phones and hate them. One doesn't always display the caller ID and on the other the "talk" button is messed up. I'm going back to AT&T when I replace them.

The only reason I bought the Sonys is that they were the only phones at the time to support Call waiting with caller ID. But that was many years ago.

I have a cheap ass fax from Sharp. Works fine. But I only use it rarely. Got it at Staples for almost free after rebates.

I think he's saying that he owns a panasonic

I've got a old 7 or 8 year old Sony cordless. It'd gonna need a new battery soon, so I'll probably think about just buying a new Panasonic from Target... My mom has a couple and loves them.

Well, after this quick fix of my panasonic I will continue to enjoy and buy their phones.

Their newer 5.8ghz fax/phone looked pretty cool
