Ok im currently with verizon and im now eligible for the new everytwo. That combined with online discounts makes most phones free except for the RAZR which is 99.99. I dont have to stay with verizon but from what I have experinced they have the best coverage. I currently have the LG VX6000 that is two years old. My requirements are flip phone, speaker phone, and outside display.

However the 8100 doesn't have speakerphone. I don't want to spend a ton of money on the phone and I don't need the newest phone. Anyone know of a phone I don't see or should look into

OK verizon says the 8100 doesn't have speakerphone, but another site says it does. That will probably be my choice

 

the 8100 has speakerphone. im in the exact same situation with the exact same phones. i think i might bite the bullet and jump ship to cingular for a family plan, but i could use some insight as well

 

I just received my RAZR from Verizon...played with it for the first time yesterday. It has all of ur requirements: flip, speaker & outside display. I also qualified for the 99 bucks deal & got free FedEx shipping. Nice phone...but ur only getting a charger & battery. You pay for every other accessory in case you didn't know.

I'm gonna try to use PKMan to connect it directly to my pc.

 

Well I had narrowed it down to the 8100 and the RAXR. Went to bestbuy and the RAZR feels like a POS and I kept thinking I was going to break the hinge

Decided to go with the 8100, but bestbuy doesn't accept the new every two discount. The verizon store was closed so I thought I would order it online. Its now gone from their website. Some forums are saying it being held due to firmware problems, and their customer service says they are holding it due to a new promotion coming out.

Anyone here have an inside scoop on this? If it is being held anyone know when it will be released?

 

I used to have Verizon..I had the E815..Great phone..But VX8100 is also good..Cingular does have the best family plan..But Verizon does have the best coverage..Its hard..I'd pick the E815 ..It has speaker, Bluetooth, and voice dial and voice text..Really good phone..

 

Well family plans mean nothing to me, because its just me. I know some companys have better prices or more minutes but verizon does have the best coverage hands down in my area.

I looked at the E815, but it seems to be a typical motorola phone. Blan looking exterior and basic menu structure. I have always been a fan of the LG phones and I hope I am able to get my hands on an 8100. I have been reading some more and it appears that when verizon upgrades there VCAST service on the 16th they will offer the 8100 again

 

Yeah...But I think that Vcast is a waist of money

 

But thats the reason there holding the phone. They started loading a new firmware into the phone to work with a new music feature called MOD. However this feature isn't going to be released till the 16th so they don't want the phone released till then. At least this is what has been gathered from howardforums
