Hard Drive & Death
Hard Drive & Death
My brother and I both have a pact that if one of us dies before the other that the living one will format the others hard drive. Do any others have a similar pact?
I have a lot of important data on my hard drive, the last thing I want is my drive formatted.
But my secondary hard drive, its on a 24 hour timer to auto format. I have manually stop the timer every day.

First of all if you trust your brother soo much why erase youre life? Surely a 'pact' would denote that you trust your brother beyond all other measures. Unless..... theres things on there that you dont want to be made public...huh? huh? huh? ...lol

At least he didn't make a pact that says the last living member shall inherit all Dungeon and Dragon stuff.
Or did he?
I have a pact with my sister that whoever finds the key to our late grandmother's Lane cedar chest gets to keep the entire contents.
It's been occupying my mom's bedroom since late 1994 and nobody's found a way to open it yet, but I have faith that one of these days...
Worst case scenario, we crack it open after our parents pass away (what they don't know won't hurt them) and split the contents. Watch it be my grandma's dead dog Fluffy or some shit. :eww
Edit: I doubt it's a dead dog, btw; I am pretty confident that it's got all of her antique silverware in it, especially after my entire family did a mad 5-household search for my grandma's wedding cake knife to be used at my wedding and couldn't find it...

I should have my mom do that and not tell her... payback for the tattoo she got against the parents' wishes.

I don't really give a crap who finds what.
Just I keep my important data stored on an encryped drive with PGP and a 24 character hex key that only I know.
I know that if someone really wants the data, that won't stop them but it will at least keep it from the casual hacker.

Don't you have to like, have sex, in order to have a son?
