Grandparents Need a Phone

What's the cheapest way for my grandma to carry a cell phone that she can -EASILY- use when she's out, if she needs to? This will be very rare -- god forbid, only if she needs it.

I need a phone where my grandma won't have to dial a pin before dialing the number.. That's too complicated.

Is Virgin Mobile the way to go? $20/3 months minimum (which is prob enough) and I can both monitor and increase her minutes online so she won't have to do anything.

Comments?

Thanks.

I recently bought a virgin mobile phone for our secretary. She's an older person and rides the bus all the time....Anyways, it is perfect for her because she doesn't use it all the time. When she does need it though, it's right there for her. The setup was pretty easy too...just had to phone it in (you can do it over the net too) and in about 10 minutes, she was ready to go.

my grandma uses Tracphone from best buy, its a prepaid phone and the minutes are good for an entire year. She only uses 200 minutes a year so its perfect for her. No pin or anything. The phone keeps track of how many minutes she has left, when she gets low she calls and we buy more minutes for her.

You'll have to check them out locally in your area. They are a private label reseller and they provide services from different carriers depending on location.
