Anybody who would buy that phone is stupid.

Not only is the price way too high, but also that phone doesn't do anything different that any other good phone on the market today. Except Verizon....which I guess gets the Verizon customer excited that they can finally get a halfway decent phone.

The seller has a lot of incorrect facts on the page. Lot of red flags raised. For example:

I know for sure Verizon is using 1900mHz in Texas (not just in Louisiana). You buy this phone and there will be a "few more" places that it won't work besides the swamps in Louisiana.

Single-band? In the "features" it says World and Tri-Band. How confusing.

No Internet except in DC and SD. You never know when Verizon will roll out EVDO to the rest of country...you could have an Internet-less Motorola for all of 2004. The phone is hardly any good unless you can share/send the videos and pictures.

I doubt you can activate this on Telus or All-hell network. You're going to need more than a phone number to get it working there. When/if Verizon gets around to selling this, it will probably be about $250...and that's before "the deal".

No you would be better off waiting for Verizon to release the real phone with the approved software, etc....or maybe not.

Here it is on the Motorola website:

http://motoinfo.motorola.com/motoinf...ct=V810&y=2003

Doesn't say anything about a movie camcorder in it.

Fotis is absent.

What retailer would put a new phone (sku) on the shelf that close to Christmas? All the Christmas goodies for Radio Shack, Best Buy, Circuit City are out on the floor by now. They don't have any plans to redo their planogram in the next few weeks.

This may come as a surprise to you but the bulk of Christmas shopping is done, especially by end of this week, next week for sure. A hot new Motorola camera phone from Verizon on the Dec 19th is gonna fall flat on its face, should have been out at a minimum around Thanksgiving.

Maybe Verizon should have planned better or maybe they do introduce phones in their store anytime of the year. IMO, the Toshiba and the Motorola are not for this year for Verizon. You've seen their Christmas offering, the LGs.

ken has way more toys than u btw....

ken, i dont believe the moto is coming out this year... mikey just happened to catch one...
ur right tho.... def not the year for moto and vzw... its the year of lg.... they have the entry level and premier phones covered... they've def cleaned up their act after the 510 and vx10.... we'll see how it plays out for the rest of the year. kyocera is trying to create its own niche w its new slider... dont know how that is going to go....

mikey, cool phone, but nothing new besides the ev-do which isn't even in this market yet. now show me a v600 on cdma, and i'll be impressed.... not holding my breath on that one tho.... moto/vzw mix is slow on phone release... consumers still have a bad taste after the 720.....

my wireless contract with AT&T is up on the 19th, and it's time i switched to VZ...Sprint can go f-themselves...VZ gave us at the company some really sweet deals on America's Choice plans

if only the phone selection was a bit better...i can't seem to justify spending $150 on the Samsung a530

otherwise phones go through my hands like water and i never get to use them to the full potential...
