Excel gurus help me please!

I have a workbook (multiple tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet) in which each tab has, as part of it's sheet, a single checkbox that the user can fill in to indicate that something on that particular page needs follow up.

I would like to have an indication on the very first tab of either:

1. Which pages have their check boxes checked

or (if that's too complicated)

2. A check box on the first page that autofills itself with a check if ANY of the following pages' check boxes are checked.

Make any sense?

Is the check box an object or a cell on each sheet?

Object, drawn from the 'forms' toolbar. Is there a better way to insert one to make it "trackable"?

Lets try something.
Right click on the check box and then format control
There should be a tab called control
There you should see a Cell Link feature. Just click the cell you want to link it with and it'll spit out a true/false text in that cell if that box is checked or unchecked.

OK, good start!

Thanks.

I may want to refine this a bit, but that should work for now.

No prob.

Just in case, you could pick a cell on the main sheet and let it throw the true/false text there. And repeat for all the rest of the check boxes in the workbook.
