This one is a unique deal in this year. The last one i was was a 13 months ago for this same price, which I took advantage. Havent seen a deal like this until now.

I wish they would run deals like this on the High-End systems.
I got my eye on a 3.2 GHz XPS system, but it is 1700 bucks configured the way I want even with the Employee discount my company offers.

Unluckily, new and hot items are never deep discounted. But this one is pretty decent for what you get.
You can always upgrade memory. Unless you really need power, P4 2.8 should be fine.
Now, i bet there is a smal difference in performance between 2.8 and 3.2 Ghz.

I remember getting a 4600 through Dell's small business division for a pretty good price. I just had to act like I was a small business, but Dell didn't give two shits.
