I actually have no issues with my rabbit ears.
I had one of those amplified ones that I mounted to the wall inside my cutout next to a window, and had some issues.

The impending net neutrality rules might make this all moot? Bandwidth may be choked to Netflix and other streaming services or will come at a higher price.
Am I being paranoid? We don't know what pricing will look like, but it surely can't be good

I use Youtube TV. $35 a month and has a ton of stuff. I can use it on a bunch of devices.

I tried the Hulu Live TV service but it sucked because while it showed NFL games the local team was blacked out, as was SNF on NBC when they were live. So I couldn't watch the Bucs live but I could watch them later. 
Once they breakdown and start offering live local team sports at a reasonable price I might buy it otherwise I'll stick to what I got now.

I don't think so. I'd have to connect over VPN but maybe they base it off of my billing address. I didn't bother with all that, I just went back to using my OTA antenna during gametime.

For some reason local games and cable packages don't mix. Even when you have Sunday Ticket you can't see your local team on there. You HAVE to go local. That's like a standard term for these deals. I guess digital is no different.

30 Mbps can handle 4 simultaneous HD Netflix streams; or 2 HD Netflix streams + 1 Hulu HD stream + 1 Amazon HD stream; or 3 Netflix streams + 1 Sling stream, etc.
Netflix recommends 5 Mbps per HD stream.
Hulu recommends 3 Mbps per HD stream and 8 Mbps for Live TV
Amazon recommends 3.5 Mbps per HD stream
YouTube recommends 5 Mbps per HD stream
Sling recommends 5 Mbps per stream
HBO Go recommends 3.5 Mbps per stream
Showtime recommends 3 Mbps per stream

Cox cable is what I use here now and my year plan is up. My service cost went up. They aren't working with me and don't seem they care to keep me. Looked into Direct yesterday.
I can save $40 per month switching to them. The 'Choice' package. That will also get me a $200 gift card and the Sunday ticket free for this season. It's a no brainer....
Just wondering if you're happy with it. Do you have issues during storms?

If you have ATT phone you get a nice discount too. We get a lot of storms in Miami but depending on quality of install, it might not affect you too much. The picture quality is not bad but not as good as say Netflix/Hulu. The DVR is pretty good but I hear Dish's is the best. The phone app is great because you can stream TV and set your DVR. I like them better than Xfinity which is what my fiancee had before we moved. You should be fine.

Had it at my old house.. When I moved I cut the cord. Went back because I went to AT&T. I was able to get the choice package for $30 a month. Never any problems, although, I'm in Cali so we don't really have any storms.
My only complaint (first world problems) is that they changed the layout of the system. You used to be able to delete your recordings on the DVR as mass, now, with the new layout you have to do it one by one. My DVR is always full because the kids have their 20 million shows on it and then my wife has her crap.

began the process of hopefully cutting the cord.... sort of... this is all about trying to get my ridiculous $170 cable bill down to something more realistic. ($170 for basic cable, 2 cable boxes, and 60mb internet)
What started all this was Optimum sent me a new modem out of the blue and told me I had to replace my existing modem to appreciate my new higher speeds.... I look at this thing and it's dated 2011 :sqnteek:
That got me doing a little research online where I discovered I could use my own cable modem and not pay to rent Optimum's POS.
Got one for $50.... this will bring my cable bill down $5 a month. Not huge savings, but why the hell am I paying to rent their garbage anyway.
I have been interested in dumping cable for a while, so the modem thing pushed me over the edge and I decided I'd give YouTubeTV a shot. @ $40/mo, the net savings will be about $70/mo once I dump the cable portion of my bill.
I signed up for the free trial, and loaded the App on my Android box, and after having to DL another app to trick YouTube into thinking my box had a GPS, I ran the App and the videos wouldn't load. Eff.
I purchased a Chromecast today thinking if it doesn't work on this, then it won't work on anything. I don't like the idea of having to operate it through my smartphone, but after some short research I discovered you can make it function with a traditional style remote... if this works out, I'll figure that out at a later date.
Anyone using YouTubeTV? What device are you using to run it? Experience?

I like the Chromecast, but it is not going to be the solution.... I need something anyone can pick up and use, not just the people with smartphones linked to the account. I thought about getting a new tablet and using that as a remote, but I don't think that'll be intuitive enough for most people.
I am going to get another chromecast for the time-being, but ultimately, I am going to have to get a smart tv or a nvidia shield.
Choices are limited as apparently there is not a lot of support out there for YouTube TV. Hopefully this doesn't prove to be a mistake in the future.
So far everything is a success though.... returning my cable boxes tomorrow.

Amazon Fire Stick seems preferred method for those using Kodi. Not sure it supports other apps. I was good with Netflix, Hulu when I had cut the cord and Kodi for cable shows though I had the luxury of my friend's Xfinity acct to watch shows On Demand.

New bills for media + internet = $105
old bill was $171.... thought I would do better, but that's as lean as I can get it. They did bump me up to 100MB though.
approx savings = $800/yr
Fios is $25 less per month, so if they ever show up in my neighborhood, that'll be the next move.

YouTubeTV sucks... the App is garbage and the offerings aren't as good as DirecTV which is less money
I switched to DirecTV. They have 3 plans, $35, $50, $60. The $35 plan was fine but didn't have SNY (Mets), so I had to go with the $50 plan, which ended up being more than YouTube.... I figure I can switch between the $35 and $50 plans in the offseason.
