Currently Studying for the CompTIA Network+ Cert, Any Advice?
I've been studying alot for this Certification. Its really not that bad I kindof enjoy reading the book. I'm reading the CompTIA Network+ Guide to Networks book from Thomson. This is the book that was for my Network course a couple years ago, so most of this stuff is a refresher which is making it easier for me, I just wish I had taken the Cert a few years ago but I didn't have my A+ at the time. I still have the Cds that came with the book that have problem simulators where they give a problem whether it's hardware or software and you'll have to figure out what's wrong and fix it. It's also have pratice exams for the Net+ and if I suck in a certain area it'll tell me, it's even got some CCNA stuff! I used the samethings to get my A+ and it was very helpful,
I'm wondering from the guys who've taken this test what your experience was? What did you struggle with or did you struggle at all? I'm pretty confident I'll pass the test, I'm just worried that I'll struggle with some of the question that cover outdated/obscure shit like token ring, FDDI, NetWare, and other things I've never used before. My book is for the 2005 version of the Network+ has there been a new version since then? I was able to get my A+ certification based on the 2003 version about this time last year so I should still be able to take the 2005 version of Network+, right?
I plan on taking the test in about a month, I'm about halfway through the book but I'm reading at work for like 2 hrs a day
and at home so if I'm undisturbed I should finish soon!
Then from there I'll start taking the practice exams. After this Security+!

I learned it is way better to get hands on then certs, but they do help to "prove you know this knowlege."
