Considering trading iPhone 5 for Samsung Note 2
If multiwindow was 'open season', this is what's going to happen:
1) random person buys the phone
2) random person tries playing angry birds in a window
3) angry birds doesn't work
4) person immediately moans on the internet about how Multi window, samsung, and angry birds sucks.
This is good for nobody. If people were reasonable/logical, they should realize that apps can't be expected to resize any damn way they want (hell, you can't even do that for games on windows). In an ideal world, they allow every app to be resized and there's a disclaimer - 'not all apps are going to like this, but this isn't necessarily their fault'.
But that's not how people work, sadly, and I totally agree with google banning this ability, for now.
I feel goodle should (will?) eventually allow you to run an app in a fixed 'legal sized' window, like windows lets you do for games. That's not going to break anything. But Arbitrary sized windows? That's a nightmare.
There are ROM hacks to allow any app to run in a multi window - the ROM I have has it. You get weird results with some apps.
On a side note, I sure wish google play would let you download apps that are marked incompatible for your device. Disable the rating if you must, but there are definitely apps incorrectly flagged, and that's really annoying.

What I was pointing at is that Korean Note 2 with some apps can do multiwindow stuff. Verizon Note 2 I have with the same apps cannot do the multiwindow stuff. Do they have different versions of apps per country/country-specific-carrier? I wouldn't assume so. That's where I'm confused at.

Now that you mention it, there is an 'allowed list' that is hardcoded into the framework. So in theory, carriers could modify that to add/remove particular apps. Why they'd do that is anyone guess. (except to allow their own particular apps, I guess)

One last question. I had bought Applecare for the iPhone5.
When I sell it to my coworker, do I have to transfer the Applecare as well...or if they have problems with the phone and they go to an Apple store, it doesn't matter that the current owner and the original buyer of the Applecare warranty isn't the same?

Thanks for this thread. I wil go from my 4 to a Note 2. I've played with 5's and want to try something different and def wont need a tablet after this. I played with the Note 2 a couple of times and I can comfortably text one handed. It just has to learn my common words for spelling errors. Hopefully it won;t slow down like my iphones 3gs and 4 have after a year and change.
