Computer trouble loves me.

Anyone have any experience with recovering files that have been quaranteened or deleted by AVG Free?

The stupid program wiped out EVERYTHING on our Toshiba - including all of Brandon's pictures from his year in Honduras and all of our "favorites" bookmarks. Am I screwed?

Can you see the files in AVG's quarantine or virus vault? how do you know AVG is the culprit?

Just say to AVG Free.

Say to Microsoft Security Essentials.

How do I check? I'm basically clueless about antivirus software (obviously, since everyone thinks I installed the wrong one!) And to answer your last question, I guess I don't know, actually.

Open AVG
Go up to the 'History' menu; top left corner; click.
click 'Virus Vault, it should open a window with any contents.

If you can paste a screen shot of the contents, perhaps the experts here can advise appropriately.

An antivirus would not have erased/moved your photos.. this is something else in its entirety.

If you let Whiskers keep whatever pics he finds then I bet he would help you for free.
