Cingular or Verizon?
I'm thinking of switching from verizon to cingular simply for better phones....was just wondering what those in the tri state area think of cingular's service
For New Jersey I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Verizon. However, if you travel up to NY quite a bit, Cingular would be the best way. GSM 850 isn't too hot even in NJ because of the hills and CDMA proves to be a champ up there.

Any phone service usually works on the main highways and on the turnpike ect.. its the side streets that are usually the ones that suck...

currently i have cingular, sprint, and verizon, of the three i would choose cingular...they have better connectivity...
verizon - i can't hear you...plus they strip the features from the phones...none of their so called "bluetooth phones" work properly...
sprint - billing sucks big time....
btw i use verizon as my primary phone...

Verizon has the most solid network in the United States. Cingular has the largest network in the United States. Verizon sucks in Dallas and where I travel although it is good in other places. CDMA call quality is horrible compared to GSM probably from the way their triangulation method works. Regardless...It is all based on geographical location. That's it. Some places it'll be good, others won't.
For example, east coast, Verizon rules NJ like no other carrier. In NY, that is Cingular. California ...Cingular does a good job but if you're in the valley, take advantage of Verizon's services. Washington state, T-Mobile does one heck of a job as well as Texas. Cingular is pretty good in our state too. So it all depends. Before this gets into a flaming war, check out where everybody lives, then make your decision based on that and look at the sticky about who has what provider and where. </rant>
